Emily Jenkins

I have been involved in the conservation of paintings since 2012 when I started an MA in the Conservation of Easel Paintings at Northumbria University. I was inspired to do my masters in conservation following graduating from Northumbria with a BA degree in Fine Art where I had become fascinated by painting processes, the materials used and art history.

I have been working at Simon Gillespie Studio since September 2015.

Some of the most interesting things that I have worked on in Conservation include assisting with exhibitions at Tate, in particular “The Mondrian and his Studio’s” at Tate Liverpool.

Having graduated with a distinction in my Masters at Northumbria I was chosen to take part in a Skills for the Future Traineeship in Paintings Conservation at Tate for eighteen months. I then worked freelance for various private studio’s before joining Simon Gillespie Studio.

Outside of work I enjoy running and cycling, cooking, live music and visiting galleries and museums.
