Celebrating Artemisia
A reception to celebrate the rediscovery of a masterpiece by Artemisia Gentileschi and the publication of an article by art historian Gianni Papi in The Burlington Magazine (March issue).
The reception was co-hosted by the studio’s very own Simon Gillespie and editor of The Burlington Magazine Michael Hall. Sadly Gianni Papi was unable to join as he was in Rome making final preparations for the opening of an exhibition about Orazio Borgianni which he has curated at Palazzo Barberini. Majo Prieto-Pedregal, senior conservator at Simon Gillespie Studio who has been key to the process of the painting’s conservation treatment, was on hand to answer questions about the technical aspects of the painting and its condition. Copies of the Magazine were available for guests to take away with them.
The event was organised by the studio’s associate director, Palmyre Manivet, with catering by Doggart and Squash and photography by Oliver Robinson.
