All in the Hands...

From tiny Trump hands to fine elegant fingers… Our Head Conservator Léonie removed the historic overpaint on this poor condition Tudor painting of a lady, revealing lots of areas of original paint, including in the hands. And look at the amazing details in the costume that have been reintegrated! The test in the face had suggested the original skin tones would be revealed, and it is now a lovely portrait to look at, with so many details to enjoy.
